City Access Ways
The City of Belfast owns or controls multiple access points to the water. Some are called rangeways and othe
rs are called rights-of-way. Rangeways are property owned by the City and rights-of-way are controlled access points over privately owned property. The photo to the right is the Allen Street Rangeway.
As of the end of 2024, the Parks, Trails, and Recreation Committee and the Parks and Recreation Department will be overseeing these rangeways and rights-of-way sites. With the assistance of our Planning & Codes Office, we have a short- and long-term program planned to help us make small repairs and improvements as well as long-term, major repairs for those rangeways and rights-of-way sites that were damaged heavily in the 2023-2024 winter storms.
