City Parks
Belfast has a long-standing reputation for beautiful parks and green spaces, dating back to the late 19th and 20th centuries. Citizens and visitors have benefited from the generosity of individuals and businesses who have donated land areas and from the commitment and foresight of several generations of community leaders.
Please contact us if you see any issues with our parks; we are striving to make improvements through capital improvements, implementation of maintenance standards, and better oversight through the City of Belfast's ordinances and park rules and regulations. Photo credit: Nora McGrath.

Facility Rental
If you are interested in using any of the City's Parks and Recreation Department facilities to include our City Park gazebo, sports fields, or general park areas for large special events, please review our 2025 Fee Schedule & Reservation Policy, approved on January 7, 2025 and updated on April 1, 2025, by the Belfast City Council. This detailed policy includes all of the facilities and programs for which the Parks and Recreation Department is responsible. This updated policy pulls all details for all facilities into one location--fees, policies and procedures, operational guidelines, and more.
Once you have reviewed the 2025 Fee Policy and you want to secure a rental for a sports field, court, or the City Park Gazebo, typically a minimum of two weeks in advance of your rental date, please complete a Facility Request Form (Fillable PDF) and return it to Belfast Parks and Recreation either via email or in person at:
Parks and Recreation Department (ground level, enter at High Street)
131 Church Street

The Facility Request Form should be returned to Parks and Recreation for review at least 60 days in advance for any large special events. You can email or call [207-338-3370 x127] in advance to inquire about date availability.
