Starting Thursday, October 22, 2020 the Belfast Transfer Station will begin accepting Mixed Plastics

Starting Thursday, October 22, 2020 the Belfast Transfer Station will begin accepting Mixed Plastics. 

This includes:

  • #2 Plastics: Please look on the bottom of container for the #2 inside the recycle logo. (This includes milk jugs, some shampoo bottles & laundry detergent bottles, etc.)
  • #1 &3-7 Plastics: (This includes food, yogurt, condiment and plastic egg containers. Salad dressing bottles, lids and caps, butter tubs and cleaning product containers.)

*Please remember that all plastics must be clean!

Rigid Plastics are no longer recycled; these items may still be dropped off at the DEMO pile.


At this time we will NOT be accepting Mixed Paper. We are asking that you continue to divert your Mixed Paper materials in with your household trash until further notice.
