Proposed Ordinance Amendments to Chapter 58,
Traffic and Vehicles
City of Belfast City Council

The City of Belfast City Council, at its meeting on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, beginning at 7 p.m. or as soon as practical thereafter, in the Council Chambers of Belfast City Hall, which is located at 131 Church Street, shall conduct a public hearing regarding proposed amendments to the City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 58, Traffic and Vehicles, Article II, Stopping, Standing, and Parking, Section 58 through 39 Specific Restrictions. The purpose of the amendment is to prohibit on-street parking on Spring Street from the intersection with Court Street to a point approximately 140’ southwest towards Cedar Street, to provide safety for those using the roadway, particularly during events held by the Maskers Theater at 17 Court Street.
Persons who may be affected by the proposed amendments are encouraged to attend the August 7th public hearing and to offer comment. Alternatively, comment can be submitted in writing to Sadie Lloyd, Planner, City of Belfast, 131 Church Street, Belfast, ME, 04915, or by email to. The language for the proposed Ordinance amendments will be posted on the City website, reference Planning and Codes tab, and a copy will be available for inspection at the Code and Planning Office in City Hall during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Questions regarding the proposal should be directed to Sadie Lloyd at 338-1417 x 125, or by email.
