Rental Housing Hearings December 5, 2017 Public Notice

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES CITY OF BELFAST CITY COUNCIL 
The City of Belfast City Council, at its meeting of Tuesday, December 5, 2017, beginning at 7:00 p.m. or as soon as practical thereafter, in the Council Chambers of Belfast City Hall which is located at 131 Church Street, shall conduct a public hearing associated with the Second Reading of proposed amendments to the City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 66, General Provisions and Chapter 102, Zoning. The amendments to Chapter 102, Zoning would allow a property that is used for a single family residence to construct a one or two bedroom accessory dwelling unit in a detached structure, subject to certain performance standards specific to this type of development. All zoning districts identified in Chapter 102, Zoning, Article V, District Regulations, are affected by the proposed amendments except the following: Division 15, Business Park - Airport; Division 18, Industrial IV; Division 21, Airport Growth; Division 30, Table of Uses, Downtown Commercial, Waterfront Mixed Use 1 and Waterfront Mixed Use 2. The amendments to Chapter 66, General Provisions, identifies a new definition of what constitutes a one or two bedroom accessory dwelling unit in a detached structure. Persons who may be affected by the proposed amendments are encouraged to attend the December 5 public hearing and to offer comment.
