Winter Parking Ban
Beginning November 1st,
2007, the winter parking ban for the City of Belfast will go into effect and
last until May 1st, 2008. Any vehicle parked over night on any city
street or parking lot for more than 1 hour between the hours of 12:00 am and
6:00 am the following morning will be ticketed and or towed at the owner’s
expense.
You may park your
vehicle in designated areas within the municipal parking lots. In the
Washington Street parking lot, you may park along the Washington Street side of
the lot. This is a change from last year’s parking in the middle of the lot.
That option did not work well for effective snow removal operations. In the
Beaver Street parking lot, you may park behind the opera house building in the
row of spaces next to the building. You can also park in the row of spaces next
to the District Court building. In the Cross Street parking lot, you can park
in the middle of the lot between the two entrances.
Please contact the
Belfast Police Department at 338-5255 during business hours or 338-2420 after
hours, if you have any questions.
Thank-you for your continued cooperation and assistance. |
