Police Officer Job Opening 

The City of Belfast, Maine Police Department is currently seeking a qualified and service oriented individual to serve the public safety needs of its citizens.  The Police Department is a community oriented policing agency that maintains progressive policies while adapting to the ever changing law enforcement profession.   

SALARY RANGE:  $32,510 to $42,744 depending on level of experience 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:   

1.  possess a high school diploma or GED 

2.  be at least twenty-one (21) years of age  

3.  have successfully passed the Maine Criminal Justice Academy’s ALERT examination. 

4.  successfully pass the Maine Criminal Justice Academy’s Pre-Employment Physical Fitness Test within the past year. 

5.  have or be able to obtain a valid Maine motor vehicle operator’s license 

6.  pass a thorough back ground investigation to include a polygraph examination. 

7.  be a graduate of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy Basic Police School or be willing to attend the eighteen (18) week course within one year of date of hire.
