Position Available: Day Camp Director – innovative health & wellness summer day camp program for children, ages 6 to 11 years old.

General Duties:

Under the direction of the Director of Parks & Recreation, this flexible position involves a 20 hr. pre-season, 3-days-a-week during 6-week camp season (early July to mid August), and a 12 hr. post-season commitment. Responsibilities include:

1. 1. Assist with pre-season program planning, marketing and staff recruitment (program materials supplied).

2. 2. Supervise and work with staff to plan, organize and conduct outdoor day camp sessions during the 6-week camp session.

3. 3. Assist with post-season program evaluation.

Qualifications:

1. 1. College degree in outdoor recreation, environmental education, elementary education or health/wellness desired.

2. 2. Knowledge of youth and youth development (ages 6 to 11).

3. 3. Skills in planning programs and setting schedules.

4. 4. Experience in managing camp staff and volunteers.

5. 5. First Aid/CPR certification.

6. 6. Proficient in computer and related word processing software.

Successful applicant will be subject to fingerprinting and criminal background check that is required for persons working with children during recreational programs.
