Dog License Information
If you own or keep a dog
that is six months of age or older, or within 10 days of moving to town, you are
required to license your dog. Your dog must be licensed by December 31st
every year, January is a grace period and February 1st starts late fees of $15
per dog..
Dog licenses cost -
$6 for spayed/neutered dogs or $11 for unaltered dogs
New licenses are available on October 15th annually - you don't
have to wait until December.

You can license your dog in person at the City Clerks office, during working
hours. You can mail your information and payment to the Clerk's office.
Or if your renewing your dog's license you can do it on line using the
information below.

Online Purchasing & Renewal Service
All dog renewals must
be completed by January 31st. If you are licensing a wolf hybrid,
service/search or rescue dog or obtaining a kennel license please contact the
municipal clerks office 338-3370.

What you will need to license
online:
- Credit Card
- License/Tag number
(Renewal only)
- State of Maine
Rabies certificate
- Veterinarian's name
and phone number
- Spay or Neuter
Certificate (if your dog has been "fixed")
