NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
BELFAST CITY COUNCIL
REGARDING BELFAST BRIDGE, LCC PROJECT 

The Belfast City Council, at its meeting of Tuesday, May 20, 2008, beginning at 7:00 P.M. or as soon as practical thereafter, in the Council Chambers of Belfast City Hall, located at 131 Church Street, shall conduct a public hearing regarding minor amendments proposed to the adopted contract rezoning agreement the City Council adopted in September 2005, as amended in April 2006, regarding Belfast Bridge, LLC’s plan to develop the ‘Old Belfast Bridge (Wakeag Landing) Development Project’.  Persons who may be affected by the proposed amendments are invited to comment at the hearing or to submit written comment.  Written comment must be received by the public hearing date at:  City of Belfast, Dept Planning & Community Development, 131 Church St, Belfast, ME, 04915, or by email at cityclerk@cityofbelfast.org. 

The proposed amendment involves a proposal to amend the performance guarantee requirements for public improvements on the project site; including the current guarantees for construction of the coastal walkway and the commercial fishermen pier. The City of Belfast City Council
  

The Belfast City Council, at its meeting of Tuesday, May 20, 2008, beginning at 7:00 p.m. or as soon as practical thereafter, in the Council Chambers of Belfast City Hall, which is located at 131 Church Street, shall conduct a Public Hearing to accept public comment and to discuss City submission and potential acceptance of Municipal Investment Trust Fund (MITF) program grant from the State of Maine.  The purpose of the grant application is to support a healthy and vibrant downtown and waterfront area.  The City proposes to use MITF grant monies to construct a section of the ‘coastal walkway’ that would connect Belfast Harbor to other uses along the waterfront, and to reconstruct sidewalks in the downtown area. 

Public comments will be solicited at this Hearing and will be submitted as part of the application.
