City of Belfast - City Council
 

          The Belfast City Council, at its meeting of Tuesday, February 19, 2008, beginning at 7:00 p.m. or as soon as practical thereafter, in the Council Chambers of Belfast City Hall, which is located at 131 Church Street, shall conduct a Public Hearing to accept public comment and discuss City submission and potential acceptance of a Housing Assistance Grant application through the State Dept of Economic and Community Development, Community Development Block Grant program.  The purpose of the grant is to obtain funds to assist Group Home Foundation, a local non-profit corporation, in the construction of a 5 unit multi-family housing project that will be located at 195 Waldo Avenue, Map 5, Lot 14A.  The housing units will serve persons with developmental disabilities that qualify for services through the State Dept of Health & Human Service guidelines.  

Public comments will be solicited at this Hearing and will be submitted as part of the Project Development Phase for this CDBG project.  All persons wishing to make comments or ask questions about the acceptance of these funds are encouraged to attend this Public Hearing.  Comments also may be submitted in writing or via email at any time prior to the Public Hearing.  Written comment should be sent to Roberta Fogg, City Clerk, City of Belfast, 131 Church Street, Belfast, Me, 04915.  Email comment should be sent to: cityclerk@cityofbelfast.org.     TDD/TTY users may call 711.  If you are physically unable to access any of the City’s/Town’s programs or services, please call Wayne Marshall, City Planner, at 338-1417, ext 25, or via email at planner@cityofbelfast.org, so that accommodations can be made.  Questions regarding the grant application should also be directed to Wayne Marshall.
